Business Budgeting Mastery

Learn practical budgeting strategies that work in real Australian business environments. Our September 2025 cohort brings together cash flow management, forecasting techniques, and scenario planning for small to medium enterprises.

12-Week Format

Classes run Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 6:30-8:45pm, starting September 16, 2025. Each session builds on previous concepts with hands-on exercises.

Small Cohorts

Maximum 18 participants per group. This size lets instructors review your actual business numbers and provide specific feedback on your budgeting approach.

Hybrid Learning

Attend in person at our Rockhampton facility or join remotely. All sessions recorded and available for review within 24 hours of class completion.

What You'll Actually Learn

The curriculum focuses on practical application rather than theory. You'll work with spreadsheets, build forecasting models, and analyze case studies from Queensland businesses. Most participants bring their own financial data to workshops.

  • Foundation Weeks (1-3)

Starting with budget fundamentals for Australian businesses. We cover chart of accounts setup, expense categorization, and basic cash flow tracking. Week three introduces forecasting using historical data.

  • Operational Budgeting (4-6)

Building operating budgets from scratch. Participants create departmental budgets, calculate break-even points, and learn variance analysis. Includes sessions on seasonal adjustments common in regional Queensland markets.

  • Advanced Techniques (7-9)

Zero-based budgeting, rolling forecasts, and scenario planning. We work through what-if analyses and sensitivity testing. You'll model different economic conditions and learn when to revise projections.

  • Capstone Project (10-12)

Final weeks involve creating a comprehensive 12-month budget for your business or a provided case study. Present your work to the group and receive detailed feedback from instructors and peers.
